BounceLab Released
Finally. After few months of preparing, I can officially announce that BounceLab is fully operative project!
BounceLab Released
Finally, I can say it - BounceLab is a fully operational project. The website is live, Patreon is launched, models with mini presentations are ready, Discord is set up. Now the fun really begins. Alright, let's go step by step.
What exactly is BounceLab - what lies behind this name? On one hand, it's nothing groundbreaking - I am a big fan of Virt-A-Mate, I've always enjoyed creating content for this sandbox - but I never published it - I created it strictly for myself. After some time, I realized that since my posts in the #screenshots section get quite a good response - maybe it would be worth sharing them with people.
The problem was always the way to present my work. On one hand, there's Patreon, which limits your communication with people who aren't your patrons yet. On the other hand, VAM HUB - a great platform for browsing content, but limited in how it presents the work of a single artist - lacking a strict portfolio that can be organized into sensible categories.
The solution? A personal "portfolio" website with links - both to HUB and Patreon - but allowing for artistic expression, character lore presentation, details, descriptions, etc. You could say I created a very simplified HUB - where all my works are located - both characters and assets. Here the idea was born: can we give something more to the VAM community?
Of course, yes - how many times have I received DMs on Discord asking how I created the plasma effect in the NecroLord renders, how I light my scenes, whether I use reshade, and what my settings are. I noticed that despite the great models created by the VAM community, unfortunately, the purely visual aspect often suffers. There's a lack of knowledge about lighting, composition, narrative, etc. Why not create a platform that also helps other creators?
I would like BounceLab not to be just a springboard to my Patreon - I would like it to be a place visited by people who do not necessarily want or can support me financially but can benefit from knowledge, advice, or free models that will also be shared. Because sharing knowledge in this area is not creating competition, but maintaining a good level of content creation by other creators, and as a result, keeping a large number of active people in the Virt-A-Mate community. I strongly support MeshedVR in his project and hope that I will be one of the people who, unofficially, contribute to the development of this great group of people who are VAM users.
